The MediaScape concept came about through observations of consumer behavior & through business case insight into other opportunities to create margin without raising prices to these consumers.

The problem:

+ Consumers want the latest electronics i.e. Portable gaming device & want it as a status symbol.

+ Customers (brands) provide this at a premium often having to charge higher costs for superior materials etc. expected on these products by consumers.

+ The product initially is a substantial investment & for smaller brands within these markets it’s very difficult to establish strong presences whilst still making margin.

Therefore, working with a smaller brand we aimed to create a product that offered the Consumer exactly what the required i.e. status symbol & great experience at a reasonable cost whilst balancing this with the brands need to justify higher margins & sales.

The concepts produced reflect the opportunities to for the brand to make profit in other ways without translating these to a consumer meaning the retail cost of the product is not what creates the margins of the product.

In this case it’s the digital advertising space on the rear of the device that brand sells to other brands that allows the cost to consumer to be lower whilst still achieving high material qualities and making a smaller brand, bigger margins.
